At Nordik, great initiatives tend to start small, with one person, one idea, and the will to follow through. In July 2026, Peter LeGallais, Senior Sales Representative at Nordik Windows and Doors, brought the GTA sales team together for a summer gathering with a bigger purpose: raising funds for Youth Haven in Barrie, ON.
The idea started with a visit. Peter spent time at Youth Haven learning firsthand about the young people it supports and the work the staff do every day. The visit inspired him to find a way for his colleagues to get involved.
Through games and fundraising activities, the team raised half of the final donation themselves, and Nordik matched every dollar. Together, they turned a summer get-together into $3,110 for Youth Haven.
Youth Haven is Simcoe County’s only emergency shelter dedicated to youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness. It supports young people aged 16 to 24 through emergency and transitional housing, outreach counselling, housing assistance, job-readiness programs and other services designed to help young people move toward greater stability and independence.
Peter saw something worth doing, and brought his team along with him. That's the kind of initiative we're proud to stand behind because at Nordik, when one of us shows up for our community, we all do.
Thank you to Peter and everyone who participated and helped support Youth Haven!
