January 15, 2024 ASK AN EXPERT: Is the Canada Greener Homes Grant ending soon? UPDATE: We were recently informed that the Canada's Greener Homes grant program will no longer be accepting new applicants and the deadline to book a first energy audit to be eligible for the HER+ program (Greener Homes Grant with Enbridge Gas) will end Friday, January 19, 2024. Announced in 2020 and launched in 2021, the Greener Homes Grant reimburses up to $5000 for qualifying retrofits. The grant is conditional on performing an EnerGuide home assessment, and also covers an extra of up to $600 for it.

July 5, 2019 ASK AN EXPERT: Can new windows help reduce noise from outside? The answer: Yes, newer windows will most likely help reduce noise from the outside. Depending on the materials that the window is made of and the age of the older windows, a significant reduction in noise can be achieved by upgrading to newer replacement windows.

March 19, 2019 ASK AN EXPERT: What should I look for in a Window and Door Warranty? If you’re thinking of replacing your windows or door, make sure you take a good look at the warranty before you sign anything. Your warranty should simply and clearly state that should anything go wrong with your purchase, the problem will be fixed at no cost to you.

January 25, 2019 ASK AN EXPERT: Why is there condensation on my windows? When warm, moist air meets a cold surface, the moisture in the air condenses on that surface. In homes, this can occur on windows or cold-water pipes. Over time, this condensation on your windows can cause mold to form and can also peel the paint on the interior window frame.
